Stay at The Westbourne Hyde Park and an array of local attractions can be on your doorstep. There is no need to travel very far to see some of the best London attractions. All the places in this section are no more than a 20-minute walk away from our hotel (according to Google Maps).
Alexander Fleming Laboratory Museum
Learn about the secrets of the laboratory where Alexander Fleming discovered penicillin in 1928 at St Mary’s Hospital, Praed Street, W2 1NY. (10am to 1pm, Monday to Thursdays)
Diana Memorial Fountain
This unique Memorial to Diana, Princess of Wales was opened by Her Majesty The Queen on 6th July 2004.
Hyde Park
One of the capital’s eight Royal Parks contiguous with Kensington Gardens, Hyde Park covers 350 acres and is home to the Serpentine Lake, Speakers Corner and the Diana Memorial Fountain.
Italian Gardens
150-year-old ornamental water garden close to Lancaster Gate tube station. It’s believed that the gardens were created as a gift from Prince Albert to Queen Victoria.
Kensington Gardens
One of the capital’s eight Royal Parks contiguous with Hyde Park. Within its 265 acres you’ll find Kensington Palace, the Italian Gardens, Albert Memorial, Peter Pan Statue and the Serpentine Galleries.
Kensington Palace
A residence of the British Royal Family since the 17th century, and the official London residence of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince Harry, the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, the Duke and Duchess of Kent, and Prince and Princess Michael of Kent.

Oxford Street
A 20-minute walk or take the Central Line to Bond Street, Oxford Circus or Tottenham Court Road (it’s a long road) for the world famous shopping destination where you’ll find the famous Selfridges department store, John Lewis’ flagship store and many other global brands.
Paddington Art Trail
Discover the story of Paddington through 22 pieces of public art. The trail covers key heritage sights from Paddington Bear to public sculptures of key royal and medical figures as well as stunning bridges and murals in Paddington Basis. The trail starts at Paddington station and takes approximately 2h to complete.

St Sophia's Greek Orthodox Cathedral
A Byzantine Revival design by architect John Oldrid Scott at Moscow Road, Bayswater, W2 4LQ.The outside of the cathedral doesn’t prepare you for the elaborately polychromatic marble decoration inside
Whiteley's, Bayswater
A boutique shopping experience and Odeon multiplex cinema, London’s first official department store, was considered the height of luxury when it was opened in 1911
A Grade II and refined Edwardian structure with marble floors and a huge glass atrium. The impressive La Scala staircase at Whiteley’s has made appearances in British films’Love Actually’ and ‘Closer’.
