Perfect London sightseeing trip

The Westbourne Hyde Park is not a five star hotel but a four star hotel that deserves a five star review. Physically the hotel is modern and fresh, having been remodeled a couple of years ago. The rooms are a comfortable size (they vary in size because the hotel was remodeled from an apartment building.) Don’t expect a view but the kitchenette is perfect for a healthy breakfast or a quick lunch. For the coffee lovers there is a Nespresso maker with pods restocked daily. The beds are comfortable and the toiletries are the classy British Molton Brown.

The desk staff are friendly and always helpful. The maid service is discrete and efficient.

However, the best feature is the location. The hotel is 2 blocks from Paddington Station, where you can catch the 15 minute express train to and from Heathrow Airport or board the Underground subway. If you get a London Pass to see the sights, the included train ride to Windsor Castle leaves from Paddington Station. In the other direction the Lancaster Gate Underground station is only a block away, right across the street from Hyde Park. From there it’s a short walk to the Princess Di Memorial Fountain or Kensington Palace. There are many decent ethnic and affordable restaurants in the area, with a good Malaysian restaurant around one corner and a popular Italian restaurant around another. Of course there are pubs and Indian, Lebanese, etc. restaurants surrounding Paddington Station.

We stayed for six days In September 2018 and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Westbourne. We don’t think we could fine a better hotel or better location for the price.

Lovely stay in the Westbourne Hyde Park Hotel

We stayed a few nights in this hotel at the end of July 2018. The hotel is very well located, mere minutes away from Hyde Park and from multiple transit means (metro, bus and train). The quality is excellent for the price, given the hotel’s excellent location and perfect maintenance. We very much enjoyed the charm of this typical London affluent neighbourhood of the beginning of the 20th century.

The staff is very friendly and helpful, the bedding is comfortable and the WIFI in the room functions very well. The hotel is very clean in general. The kitchen counter (complete with stove and sink) and the fridge are very useful. The only downside about the room is its size – there is little place for storing and opening the suitcases (and we only had two small ones). We have very much appreciated the mobile phone included with the room, that we were able to use everywhere in the city, to call, text and use the internet (the ever useful live maps and GPS) free of charge.

In conclusion, I highly recommend this hotel, given its high quality and the fact we very much appreciated our stay. We will definitely stay there again next time we are in London (hopefully very soon).

Excellent property with superb staff.

I’ve stayed at this property several times when in London, and it’s excellent location is the reason.
7 minute walk to Paddington Station, handy to the Heathrow Express.
The rooms are well appointed, and well maintained.
The staff here from the concierge to the desk and management do an excellent job in making sure things go well.

Note: There is no restaurant on site, however they do serve a basic continental breakfast in the lounge. There are several breakfast places in the area.

Rooms much larger than we expected, lovely bed with blockout blinds, very clean and didn’t have any problems during our 8 night stay. Great place
